5th Japan Trip 2007 - #14

26th Dec 07 - Time to say goodbye to Sapporo. We are going to Hakodate today.
After checking out, we decided to get to the bus station by Taxi. No no! Not tt we r rich, but coz our luggage too heavy hence, its tough to walk 30mins from our hotel to bus station. Taxi was 880Yen. So we took 2 cabs. So still quite ok la..
Our bus time, 9.15am. Our bus driver? A young guy. Quite cute actually. Hahahaha!!
But poor thg, hes trying to figure out how to store our luggages. Hahaa...
Its a 5 hr drive from Sapporo to Hakodate. A long journey with 1 toilet stop only!!! I started to get motion sickness after 1 hr coz some ppl did big biz in the bus toilet so the bus stinks... I couldnt take it, so head started to spin. Thank goodness for the break, I felt better.
At last, we reached Hakodate!!! Our hotel is only 3000 yen pax/night. Its cheap, 5 mins from bus terminal, but the room... Errrr well, we were quite fine with it, but my mum abit disappointed.. Haha! well its not tt bad actually, clean and has free internet, jus tt the building, structure and interior is quite old and very diff from our Sapporo hotel. My poor dad got nagged by mum for very long time(coz their 3 pax room smaller than our 2 pax room) and threaten tt if Tokyo hotel not good, she will changed.. hahah!!!
Well, even though its 2+ we need to get lunch. We went to this foodcourt looking place. Dont ask me wat I ordered. I tik mine was a mixed of everythg... The taste was ok! 750 yen.

After makan, time to go site seeing. We went to the Goryokaku. It used to serve as a place for the General in the past and the design adopted western style, star shape(HOSHI!). The whole place had been planted with Sakura trees, Im sure its going to be beautiful in Spring.
We took the city tram to go to our next destination, Hakodate Hill top. The city tram is very easy to take but the seats quite limited though. Even the tram waiting stop had been decorated with xmas lightings.
Hakodate has the World Top 3 best night view honor. Since we are here of coz must take a look. We took the cable car up to the hill which is fast, less than 10 mins ride, indeed, the scenery, super wonderful. Not only its full moon but, we saw 2 shooting stars!!! Its very cold too!!
In order to continue enjoying the scenery but not in the cold, we went to a cafe to have snacks and hot drinks while enjoying the scenery(Aww life...). We were lucky to get a window seat. We ordered, hot chocolate, Hokkaido baked potatoes, special lamb set(the lamb very very fresh &tender and the sauce was very special with a sweet savory taste), warm Sake, and me being a dessert lover ordered a Hokkaido(map)cheese cake dessert (good, not too sweet) with hot tea. The dessert really had the shape of Hokkaido.

Finally, time to say goodbye to the wonderful night scenery. Next, we visited some of the famous church, but too bad, its too dark to take pix, and head back to our hotel at near to 11pm to zzZZzzz...
