5th Japan Trip 2007 - #8

20th Dec 07 - Feeling recharged after a night rest and a good breakfast, we went to a place whr we had made reservation. Yumekoubou. Why? Coz, we're going to dress up as Maiko(舞妓) for makeover. We decided to go for 2 sets of clothes since we got the chance.
The studio located 5 mins walk from our hotel. As we had done our reservation, theres only two of us. We were brought into the dressing room to choose the design we wanted to wear. The dressing room was designed thoughtfully. They had a few chairs for make up, a lots of sink to wash up, an area for u to blow dry your hair, lotion for ur face if u need after the makeover, toilet, lockers for belongings etc. Cool!!!
So so many choices!!! We had a hard time picking. I picked the purple one 1st, our makeup artist helped me to choose the 2nd pc,red(n I loved it). XM took the artist advise for both her clothes, green and yellow, and it really suit her!

Now, time for make up. Shes fast! She did for both us at the same time and able to finish it in 30 mins and started dressing us up. Really uncomfortable! Tie the body with cloth tightly for a few layers b4 wearing the costume. Even after wearing the costume, we got wrapped again. Suddenly, I felt like dumpling. Haha... Then next is the hairwig.. Wah liao, heavy la!!! And we cant laugh else the makeup might crack. :p
XM proceed to take her photo first. But jialat thg was, she couldnt speak Jap & our dear photographer cant speak chinese, errr abit chicken n duck talk lor... Poor both of them, trying hard to understand. I came into the studio later and tried to help to translate as much as possible.
We could use our own camera. As we are still waiting for them to post our enlarged photos to us, so pai say la,now only have wat we took with our camera.

After washing off the makeup, we had a look at our end product.. I couldnt stop laughing at myself! So funny!!!
Here you go, but same ya, dont laugh too loud hor! I got both, 6, 11,17 to enlarge.
After a break at our hotel, we went to Saga to take the Torottku train to tour around the hills and river in the west end Kyoto. 600yen perpax/25mins trip
I got to know this train also through TV program.

View along the way was wonderful! We saw bamboo forest, valleys, flowing river, sunset and lots more. On the way, XM n I hardly talked. Coz we were so adsorbed in by wat we saw. This is somethg which we dont get to see frequent.
We took a bus to the famous bridge, 渡月橋(Togetsukyo). The water flow quietly downwards. It so quiet that you may not even notice the water is flowing. We saw the bridge. Its a long bridge with lights on the side changing color frequently. Its sunset time, it seems quietly saying tt its hosting a romantic place for couple.
We crossed the bridge and came to a small restaurant. Its near dinner time and we wanted to settle with Kyoto famous food, Toufu soup. I had soya soup base with Toufu and clear soup base Toufu for XM. She wanted fried Toufu as a side. From her expression I could see that shes especially happy with her dinner tonight. Actually, me too.
After dinner we headed off to shopping again. Though we were very tired by the end of the day but we were very very happy.
